After a long trip and no trouble we arrived in New York city. Every day we will get our exersize walking the four flights of stairs to and from our appartment. Today it was quite a feat to carry all our luggage up all the stairs.
In New York we are with the two other Step teams that are going to Colombia and Asia, while we ourselves will be heading to Spain. We are all different, but are going to have a lot of fun getting to know each other.
The appartment is rather small. There are eight people in a three bedroom, one bathroom flat. The five girls--Renee, Carla, Bekah, Beth, and Eryca--all share one room. The two guys--Asher and Aaron--get their own room.
Orientation was quick, but important. Tomorrow we begin by attending the local BIC church, the only BIC church in New York state. We'll then commence into a flury of a week which will include many activities, team building opportunities, and personal devotions.
Updates should be posted at least once a week, so come back and see what God is doing with the Step to the Edge team.
Signing out, Renee and Asher
Asher, an avid procrastinator and a picky perfectionist (a poor combination), hopes to give the reader some insight into his cognitive conundrums while presenting a small amount of personal (and, with a little luck, public) amusement, keeping the world up to date on his hopefully-less-than-mundane life: his going abouts, his random thoughts and opinions, his at-the-time-ingenious-but-upon-further-consideration-possibly-not-so-ingenious ideas, and anything else he feels is possibly noteworthy.
